Early Life

Born and raised in Lakhimpur District of Assam, Rupamoni Gorh grew up with dreams that reached far beyond the horizon. Like many young people from rural and tea garden communities, she faced limited resources and numerous challenges. However, her determination and passion for adventure encouraged her to pursue mountaineering. Presently she is working with Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP).

With consistent training, physical fitness, and mental strength, she prepared herself for some of the world's toughest climbing expeditions.

Felicitation by Bhaskar Sanskar Kendra

Mount Everest, standing at 8,848.86 metres (29,031.7 feet) above sea level, is considered one of the most difficult mountains to climb. Climbers face freezing temperatures, powerful winds, low oxygen levels, and dangerous terrain.

Despite these challenges, Rupamoni Gorh and her ITBP women team of 11 successfully reached the summit of Mount Everest, carrying with her the hopes and dreams of countless people from Assam. Her achievement reflects extraordinary courage, resilience, and dedication.

The Everest Expedition

To honour this extraordinary achievement, Bhaskar Gyanpeeth Primary School Trust, Sadani Bhasi Yuwa Manch and Bhaskar Sanskar Kendra proudly organized a felicitation ceremony celebrating Rupamoni Gorh's inspiring journey.

The programme aimed to encourage students to develop confidence, discipline, physical fitness, and a spirit of adventure. Listening to Rupamoni's experiences motivated young minds to believe that with dedication and perseverance, no dream is impossible.
